RECYCLED FASHION – ONCE AGAIN!

Harem Pants

Harem pants – a strong trend of 09/10 and it look like it is here to stay. They are the talk of the town and worn by the top celebrities of our time.
Who would have thought Harem pants first came about in the early 20th century during the orientalism movement with Poiret’s harem and lampshade look in 1913 , but nearly a century later – they are at the height of fashion once again. The harem pants, trousers famous Oriental origin always comes in trend like summer clothes or urban hippie chic.
A basic item for every wardrobe – topped with a basic tee and heels they are ideal for a casual yet chic look.
At the top of the designer market – Roberto Cavalli does a gorgeous pair of suede harem pants for a I’ve got more money than sense £1,705.

The high street is doing so well in creating the designer look for an affordable price. Topshop designed a cropped harem pant made from 95% viscose and 5% elastane for a generous price of £22. A great price to pay for all you fashionistas.

Next have designed a plain yet elegant pair of cropped harem trousers for an RRP price of £20. We are selling them at J & N Herz for an unbelievable £3.98+vat.

We doubt we’ll be beaten on price!!!!!!!
Here are a few tips on how to wear harem pants:
  • Make sure you define your waist by teaming with a tucked in fitted top or shirt
  • Add one of this season’s chunky embellishment adorned belts for a bit of midriff interest
  • Wear with super-high heels to elongate and flatter your shape
  • If you must wear your harem pants with a voluminous top, ensure you’re cinched in at the waist - otherwise you might end up looking like a swaddled up frump
  • If you’re blessed with skinny legs you can afford to go for the styles with more volume. If your legs are on the larger side, opt for a more structured shape
  • If you have a short body lengthen your look by sticking to all one colour
  • Taller women can take their pick of any style of harem pants – the more cropped the better
  • Harem pants make great holiday attire. Pair with flip-flops, big beads and a brightly coloured vest top for a casual hippy-chic look that’s perfect for lazy summer days.
And us brits go on holiday all year round.

Hippest trend for Autumn/Winter 2010......The Waterfall Cardigan

They have recently become the must have garment for Autumn/Winter 2010. The definition of a waterfall cardigan is that it is longer at the front than it is at the back, the longer front section is comprised of folds of material that sit in such a way that they are intended to evoke images of a waterfall. Although there are so many variations of the waterfall cardigan some may not even look like a waterfall cardigan in its literary sense.
All designers have caught onto this trend and now there are countless styles on the designer market and the high street. The price difference for a waterfall cardigan from designer to high street is enormous, from a staggering £635 for a Thomas Maier waterfall cardigan to an extremely low price of £10 for a South soft touch waterfall cardigan.

Demin Era

Skinny Jeans
The denim trend began way back to 1853 when Levi Strauss found a gap in the market for miners and designed the ‘Denim Blue Jeans’.  Who would have known denim would become a timeless material used by all designers for nearly 150 years?!  The skinny jean design arrived in stores in the 1950’s and has never really left – the things that did change were how they were worn and what they were worn with. The 50’s saw them rolled up at the bottom and worn by celebrities such as Elvis Presley and James Dean. The 60’s saw them worn with heels. They went through a quiet period in the 70’s but they flew back in during the 80’s and have been at the height of fashion ever since.
Today – double denim is the trickiest and most controversial trend – you either love it or hate it. With Chloe, Ralph Lauren and Twenty8Twelve all gave good double denim on their spring/summer 2010 catwalk; below we can see Alex Chung snapped by Vogue sporting the double denim look ever so well.

Kate Moss brought out her own clothing range for Topshop and in her 2010 summer collection she added skinny jeans to her collection at a reasonable price of £70.00.
J Brand – well known for their skinny jeans, worn by celebrities such as Cheryl Cole and Eva Longoria price their skinnies at a purse busting £200.
On the high street – Skinny Jeans are everywhere and competition is fierce. Finding the perfect jeans that fit perfectly in all the right places is a full day chore and some might say a nightmare.
Dorothy Perkins has some of the best skinny jeans on the high street at a very affordable price. Take their  black skinny jean (seen below) 77% cotton – 21% polyester and 2% elastane they are retailing at ONLY £25.00.

Here at J & N Herz we have Ex Dorothy Perkins dark grey skinny jeans. Made from 98% cotton and 2% elastane they are ideal for the regular jean wearer. With diamonte detail at the back and stitching on the back pockets they are perfect for day and evening wear. They come in sizes 6-20 S R L.  Retailing at £28 a pair, here at J & N Herz we are selling them at a fantastic £4.25 (39567).
What a bargain!!!!
